Solid Waste Management

Solid-waste management is the collecting, treatment, and disposal of solid material that is discarded because it has served its purpose or is no longer useful. Improper disposal of municipal solid waste can create unsanitary conditions, and these conditions in turn can lead to pollution of the environment and to outbreaks of vector-borne disease—that is, diseases spread by rodents and insects.

FCP’s Work on it:

FCP’s main focus is to manage solid waste by creating awareness among the people and building their capacity for sustainable waste management. FCP created awareness on single-use plastic and E-Waste for School Children of DAV Public School in Delhi and a one-day awareness workshop on recycled items made from single-use plastics and E-waste. FCP also organized a one-day awareness session and plantation drive in Rao Ram Singh Public School Sector-45 and a one-day Cleanup drive and awareness activity in RWA society of Sector-48, Gurgaon.
